Aug 12, 2019 · You must apply pressure on the piston to push it into the caliper as you twist the piston clockwise. It took me about two and a half turns but it can take more depending on how hard you are pushing. Apply copper anti-seize in same place on the new pads as it existed in the old.
Jul 06, 2012 · I pumped the pistons back out (whilst the caliper was off the wheel) and added brake fluid to level in the MC. Using a g-clamp I began to push the pistons in one at a time. I stopped when pushing one piston in, generated enough pressure to push the other out. At this point I slowly opened the bleeder valve to allow for pressure release.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air) so replace the reservoir cap as soon as possible by twisting it on in the clockwise direction. Thoroughly clean off the brake rotor, caliper bracket, brake caliper assembly and the lug nut studs with brake parts cleaner spray.
Spray the caliper with plenty of brake fluid and use your pick to scrape the seal channels clean. You should also use wire wool or a wire brush to clean them right out – try running the wire wool around with a small flat-bladed screwdriver.
